Puppy Nursery

It all starts with healthy, well-bred adult dogs.  

This is Daisy - almost ready to have her puppies.  

She has been busy gathering lots of toys to sleep with.   

Mom needs a warm and quiet place to have her puppies.  Once the puppies arrive we usually cover this pen with a soft blanket for privacy.

The placing of this pen varies with each mom.  Some like to be very close to us and some like to be off by themselves.  We let them decide. 

We are always with our mama's when they give birth.  

Pups are weighed daily and records are kept of any and all changes.

We try to be ready for anything...

We have an incubator, complete with heat/oxygen/humidity if needed.

We are also prepared to bottle feed or supplement if necessary.

We begin training pups to a special litter box at 3 weeks of age.  Our hope is that they are very close to being fully potty trained at 10 weeks of age when they go home!

Our puppy pen changes and grows with the age of the puppy.  The pen starts very small, but as the puppies are able to potty in the designated area, we increase the size of their pen until it is about 10' X 10'.  

We also fill it with lots of different toys, a tunnel, and things to climb on.

We take our summer puppies camping with us!

We make sure our puppies are healthy with proper vet care.
